G'day and all that from the land Downunder! I am the proud owner of a 1997 BMW 528I Touring Wagon... May I ask if any of your members have experienced the following problem? On the freeway at about 65-75 mph I get a really quite bad 'buffet', as if someone has partially opened a window and the air is buffeting around inside the car. It doesn't feel like a wheel balance problem or wheel alighment or tyre problem. All the windows and doors, and the back tailgate close properly and do not leak air, with all seals intact. Any clues or suggestions would be appreciated. PS I am very soon to have my membership of the Gold Coast BMW Drivers Club ratified. Where do I live? Visit www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au the local authority website. Thanks in advance for all your help.... |

No I don't! I know from previous wagon or 'estate' ownership that driving with the rear seats down changes the volume of the cabin dramatically and can result in buffeting, but that's not the case this time. Its driving me crazy...am taking the car to the main Brisbane BMW dealer this week to see what they think.
