why is it always those little 10 min jobs that turn into Word War III?

removing front seats on a classic BMW takes 10 mins tops, its just 4 17mm bolts. Or is it? removing a seat today turned into a Greek tragedy.

Some ugly great ape had put one of the bolts in at an angle, and it was jammed solid. took ages to get out. that was the easy one. another bolt was too close to the seat runner and the socket would not fit over the bolt. had to use hammer & chisel to move the runner flange out of the way, and then had to force the socket on with hammer blows. Grrr, why do great apes mangle old BMWs?

Got there in the end, but not great way to spend a Bank Hol???

It's always the way.

The "easy" jobs often lead into bigger things, usually just as all the motor factors are closing.

I spent Bank Holiday Monday going through legal documents for an adjudication. Tough bolts would have been preferred (maybe).

well, I have just done an interior swap on two e28's, and it was the rear seat back rest that caused the problems, took ages until someone on one of the boards told me about 2 bolts that I couldn't or didn't see! Once undone it just came off!
