Yello,
I'm looking at buying a set of 17" wheels for my '94 325, and see that the recommended offset is ET42. The wheels I'm looking at are ET35. Will this be a problem ? The wheels are 17 x 8J ET35. Also what would be the best tyre sizes for those rims ? I'd like as much profile as possible for comfort reasons. Maybe 225/45/17 ?

Thanks in advance guys.... Malc

Am not too sure about the offset I'm afraid, but you need to be careful with tyre sizes, for the over all rolling radius etc.

Find out what size the wheels were, then go to www.rochfordtyres.co.uk & use the tyre size calculator, the new wheels & tyres need to be within 2.5% either way, you can certainly fit that size of tyre, & others though, as long as it's within the guideline. I would say 225/40 would be comfy enough though, I have 215/ 45 on 17s & it's fine. Hope this helps.

Yello,
Well I've just bought some fine looking wheels off Ebay for my 94 325 E36. ET 35 5X120 8J. They've got a really nice semi polished rim that should give some depth the look. Whad'aya reackon ? Ebay Item number 7964765402 if your interested. I can't seem to browse my C:\ to post a piccy. I'm thinking 225/45/17 tyres all round. Does anyone think that'll be a problem ? The car's on standard suspension.

Cheers Malc........ In happy mode

Malc,

Those are fine looking rims indeed, you will have absolutely no trouble with those tyres on standard suspension, you can even go 235/40/17 on the back if you like, to give it a wider more staggered look, depends on taste though.

Post a pic when you get em on.

Yello,

Thanks Ally for your confirmation of tyre fitment. I thought these wheels might look better with the depth to the rim, than a more normal MV style rim. Oh an thanks for the cheap Gliptone hide food link !!

Yello,
Although it didn't say in the ad, and the wheels aren't delivered yet, I'd lay money that they're Rondell #58.
I can't wait to get 'em on the car !
