There was no gas in it and althou it held presher on the leak test it has stopet working maybe as the air con fan is not coming on and has triped it out but i think it has lost its gas, oh well good job me boss is a air can man so I get it gased up for free.  can't rember what the gas is but the oil is diffrent slightey thicker, air con  shoud be serviced every 12 to 18 mounts, I am geting trained up to do air con as well so take cover

lets get an e23/e28 meet sorted soon fellas.

how many miles are guys willing to drive for a meet?

we are fairly widely scattered which makes a meet a long drive for some of us.

Just waiting for the door seal on mine to put her back on the road. BMW are making a batch of these (amazing for a 20 year old car), so I've been quoted delivery of up to 6 weeks. That would take me into May. Happy to meet somewhere round the M25, though Deal would be better!

well the old bus passed the mot and after handing over £93 i had tax as well. it drives lovely but it needs getting used to. as it hasent been run i dident venture out of colchester, brakes are just bedding in again now. the ride is soft but i like that, speedo dosent work so i dont know what my speed is so will have to try and get one, i feel strange driving this as ive never driven this type of car. plus loads of peolpe look at the car as you drive by, odd feeling. i might venture out of colchester tomorow, are you around philip, as i want you to cast your eye over it.

Brilliant news Rob, well done.

I thought speedo was MOT item???

Get it valeted for a photo shoot, I'll get my camera.

Yes, bystanders look & stare as you go past, E23's are so rare now. Not stares of derision I hope???

I am due in Brighton tomorrow, so how about late afternoon, 5pm??? that will give you time to valet it, and write list of bits you may need.

they do ride softly, but not too wallowy unless shox are shot.

does the rest of the dash work? If it does, it's more than likely te connection on the diff! These just need cleaning (well 90% of the time) to get workingagain?

Well done Rob, Phil if you take some pics, may I have some for my 'files'?

I know the lack or non working speedo is illegal. But wether it's an mot failure I don't know! They would have to take it out for a drive to see if it's working or not?

I thought that in the olden days a road test was (sometimes?) included in the MOT. nowadays they do a rolling road test (or do they?).

how do they test ABS without performing an emergency stop?!

We need an MOT testers book from the HM Stationery Office!

Robs, look fwd to seeing you. If I'm not there it means either bad traffic  or VJ has broken down

I mustn't be so negative, VJ is parked just outside & is monitoring my comments about him. sorry VJ, you are not a landfill, rockery ornament, you are fine 80s prestige classic. with huge chip in windscreen
