E46 Convertible Lid locking

   Looking for some help!!

I purchased an 2000 E46 convertible (private purchase) 2 weeks ago and
have just found out that the the lid that covers the roof, when down
does not latch down properly on one side.  The cable that pulls
the latch down seams tight.

Does anyone have any ideas?
