I have been scouring the usual sites, i.e. autotrader and exchange and mart plus the various BMW mags and our club website.

Soemtimes though people on the forums know of one coming up or have one that they may sell and are enthusiasts who will have generally looked after their cars better.

I will find the right one but it will take time. Ideally like aircon and leather (wipe clean with young children!) but would not imagine many had that and those that did are probably 325i models.

Anyone know of a good un for sale?

Thanks

I found the Autotrader website very useful.

The 316i isn't that far removed from the 1.8! We have the 316i Lux touring, and it's quicker than you think, still does around 35 or so mpg, and once up to speed, goes very well!
Are you after an auto or manual? There is a really nice e30 Touring for sale on the e30zone (well quite a few for sale on there now) it's in silver, a late Lux model, but is an auto!

Simon,

Thanks for that, it is just the sort of thing I need to hear, but I am after a 318i as I think the 316i will be a bit underpowered.

Thanks

Kevin

There's a diamond black 316i touring near me for sale, it's a late one on an L plate, I've always fancied buying it to transfer all the good parts from my touring over to it, including a 325i engine.

It was originally up for £1800, it's now down to £1000, I can get the phone number if interested, that's all I can tell you is it's diamond black, it's got 15" BBS, and has the maplights in the rear view mirror.

This would be the donor, but I'm a bit short on cash at the moment, the M3 is seeing to that!

Thanks M3AG, all advice appreciated. It'll help keep miles off the E30 M3 too!

there is an H26 for sale at the moment Kevin, but I would say it would be too good (Or Bling?) for your wife to use on a daily basis.
A good 318i is ideal for Baby duties, with good economy and a fair turn of speed. Get a late LUX model.
