Hope this is some help to somebody. My E23 bonnet struts were knackard, so it was with glee that I found the struts off the Rover 820 I was breaking were a near perfect fit!

Now does anybody have any ideas why the heater/air con control buttons on my dash don't stay pushed in ?

Does anyone have a drivers handbook for an '85 735i se ?

Cheers

You can download an owners manual.  There is a link on my website to E38.org which has tips and tricks for E38/23/32.

Here is the direct link, scroll down, it is the last item on the list

handbooks crop up on ebay regularly.

there is an excellent set of e23 repair guides including the HVAC push buttons, on the E23 chat board. link here:

http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/e23/

the push buttons can be repaired without expense, just follow the David C's guide.

many thanks for the Rover bonnet rams tip; new BMW rams are £50 a pair

lets see pics of your car please, and tell us all about it.

welcome to the board

Year of my Rover is '93, but any Mk2 800 will have the same struts.
