Hi all,

I am new to this forum and am hoping that somebody can suggest a good place to sell an X5 related number plate. I have been given a price from a "Rover" dealer, but feel sure it may be worth trying a specialist seller.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

hello mate if you are going to sell it do it privately dont tell any reg company that you want to sell it they will offer you pennys for it

ive got OIL 4011 for sale and rt registrations said they would give me £400 for selling it for me but they were sellig loads of different OIL plates and they were as high as £4500 they take the mick

have a look at www.dvla-som.co.uk and look for similar plates and go for that sort of price

good luck

if you dont mind me asking what is the plate??????

the plate in my pic sig that cost £499 from dvla all in but every other company were selling it for £495 but you have to pay £ 80 transfer fee vat and a few extra charges it would of cost £849!!!!

Hi Darren,

Thanks for the advice, the plate is X58 EER which spells X5 BEER.

The Rover dealer offered £5,750, which included the car, he said his "BMW friend was interested". The car is only worth £3,500 which made me think that it may be worth more.

Hi Darren,

I will try that website on monday (got a few days off work)

I dont yet have a BMW, but have been looking for a good BMW 2002 for the last 6 months - I much prefer the older ones, so much easier to work on and more character than later models.

I also have a 1964 Austin Healey Sprite which is nearing completion and should be back on the road for summer - great to drive and so simple. This one I have owned for the last 20 years.

Again thanks for your help,

Martin

Hi MTEC530D,

Yes they are funny things, it seems to be a question of being in the right place at the right time.

Good luck with yours

Martin
