I followed a lovely white E28 M5 (possibly) down the M5 last night.

It was very clean, black boot spoiler, looked like E39 "roulette" style wheels.

It looked mint.

The boot badges threw me a bit, but maybe you E28 fans can confirm if they are correct.

It was badged 535i then the M power badge, is that correct ?, I thought the 535i bit came in with the E34.

Anyway was it anyone from here, if so the Vectra estate that pulled alongside of you to have a look was me !

I ran with you down to Jnc 6 of the M5, you then continued south.

IT had a Northern Irish plate on it, BIW XXXX

Sounds like an M535i to me. These were the fore runners to the full blown 24v M5 e28. They are recognised as real motorsport cars and are basically an M5 without the engine. The 535 lump is the m30 big six the same as the e34 535. The body kit on the M5 was also a little more subtle that the M535i. I used to look after a VERY rare '85 M535 in Agate green with a hiddeous Green  cloth interior. The interiors were full blown motorsport spec complete with the M stripe badges.

It looked like one that was on here, I can't remember his user name, but he landed a job at christmas working for a second hand car dealer, had a black E30 too.

It was heading in the correct direction for that chap .

Yes thats the one, I didn't realise he'd actually sold it, he tried, then decided to keep it last I heard from him, he doesn't seem to have been around for ages.
