Can Anyone help, my car won't let me in! I'm putting in the right code on the OBC - I'm sure - but the code isn't being accepted. Is there a way of resetting the code at the side of the road?? To compound matters, I'm in Holland!

Any advice greatfully received......

To reset the code you need to remove the battery and leave it disconnected for 15 minutes. The only embarressing thing about this is, and some explanation to the local plod could be required, the alarm sound on battery backup the whole time!!!!

I know what you mean about the alarm, I was parked on a quiet university campus when it went off, security types appeared from everywhere in no time at all.....

Or for a quieter life you can press the right button (s/r) after inputting the code. Why I decided to try after different button after the proper one worked so well for so long I don't know.

You could call it a brain fart as blonde moments are no longer pc!!

cheers mate you had me there for a moment I was thinking on board dianostics which also includes the alarm and imobiliser on newer cars perhaps we are looking at the same thing. the word OBC is not used on cars,  the integrated system is called OBD I/II or EOBD Europe on board diagnostics

I checked my database and it seems Derek might have been too far away from the car when he tried to unlock it, the problem with this is it wipes the codes in the transponder and a re-sync is required which resets the transponder to the car, it appears hes do just that and a shame he didnt share his results

I did the same as you. I was told that pulling fuse 5 turns the OBC off. That was on an e28 so whether it would work on any other model i do not know.

All I was doing was pressing the wrong button..... I have no idea why after using the right one every time I've started or stopped the car since I've had it - 2 years! I thought a different one would work as well as the right one! As I say, definately a case of user error!
