I have noticed on other sites that member's birthdays are often given a mention at the bottom of the site, usually under the active member section. I know we can put our birthdays on our profiles and that they are public to a degree, that being you have to look them up and so on, but...

I just been thinking that seeing as not all of us have real families and we see you 'the forum' as our virtual family, well I just thought it might be a nice touch to have a section at the bottom with birthdays publicised for each day. Makes a nice recognition of someone's day imho.

(and before anyone says anything, no this is not cos its my b/day tomorrow, just think its a nice personal touch on a site, makes people feel like a member of a big family when their b/day is recognised, thats all.)

I see where you coming from Ally, but most of us on here are blokes, and in a blokes world it is totally optional to remember a mates birthday !
Best Wishes

I beg to differ, I think you will find that the vast majority of 'bloke orientated' sites have birthday lists on them....Skyline being one such...Mk3 Supra being another...etc etc etc

I did say in original post that it had nothing to do with that, I just think its a nice touch for anyone who has a birthday for it to be recognised in some way, cos some of us don't have families and most of our friends are on here.

No, these days you can order a "Fire Brigade Cake Standby Crew" for the bigger cakes, they're not too dear and were another bright idea for raising ddesparately needed cash!
