[QUOTE=Ringa320] I drove the heap of sh*t back
last night.... [QUOTE]

But to be fair..........

Lovely engine (£200 all day long)

Nice autobox

Silent diff (LSD?)

Nice Buffalos

Couple of good Metric covers

Would drive okay once calipers are freed off.

I want to sell the 735 complete rather than the aggro of fragging it .  I want about £300 . If i found a victim for a few big bits ,i.e  struts, interior, front bumper, ecu etc i may frag it but rather not . It is a taxed and mot'd driver.

You don't half pick 'em Hiab. It was unbelievably good of you to fit new tail lamp FOC. After he phoned you effing & blinding most of us would have put the phone down, and left him on his own. I hope you gave as good as you got.

As you rightly pointed out 20 year old £450 cars do not come with full parts & labour warranty.

Why do life's unfortunates end up in your front garden?

The victim who bought the sapphire turd (for £450 !) was a half swedish ginger from middlesborough with a stutter who worked in the 'security industry' ! how's that for a bad hand, i thought i'd been dealt  a wrong'un but i got off lightly in comparison. He paid a £75 deposit about 7 weeks ago by cheque after spending 3 hours crawling all over the turd.  He then rang me the following day to plead with me not to bank the cheque because he wouldn't have the money till next week !. To cut a long story short he finally picked it up after about 4 1/2 weeks of excuses and BS . He called me about 3 days later fffing and bbbing saying i'd sold him an unsafe car, it transpires he had been pulled by the 'filth' for a defective brake light, he had tried to change the bulb but ended up breaking the tail lamp lens (i told you he was thick ).  I fitted a bulb and a good lens foc and made it clear to him that this is a 20 year old car and the warranty expired in 1986. The last i heard he was heading up to middlesborough the weekend of the bad floods, i hope he 's alright !

The bronze turd is a driver the engine ,box, interior are all good , the car isn't rotten but is a bit tatty. It could live again but probably best to frag it, the front struts and BBS front spoiler are good as well. The car still has some t+t .

Wow! you finally shifted the Monument! How sad is the loser exactly?

The Bronzit Beige car has exactly the same spec as my old '84.

Is it a rusty heap or not too bad? I need MORE pain in my sad little existenz

Hiab,

board member selephant is after a cheapie 735i e23 I believe.

Please tell us the colour of your 735i FS. I think its Sapphire blue which is the silver-blue metallic shade.

Are the panels fairly straight & not too rusty?

Does it drive OK etc etc

I had probs with trip comp time/date on mine till Philip told me date has to go in US style, month, day, year or it won't take it.

Should be push in end on left hand column stalk, that will cycle display, when you get it to time/date press pin into small hole on bottom right hand side, past dotted lines to zeros then enter using bottom row buttons. Think once you get it right you press pin in hole again to set it. Hope it helps, took me days to get mine right, then battery went flat and I had to do it all again, lol!

HI, SOME OF YOU GUYS SEEM TO KNOW A LOT ABOUT E23s, IM NEW TO THEM AS I HAD A LOT OF E28s AND WAS A BIG AUDI FAN FOR YEARS, ALTHOUGH THE BM IS A MUCH BETTER DRIVERS CAR, THE AUDIs ARE MUCH BETTER MADE AND DONT ROT LIKE THE BMs DO,AFTER BUYING 4 E28 CARS IN SUCCESION TRYING TO FIND A CAR THAT WAS FREE FROM ANY WELDING REPAIRS WAS LIKE TRYING TO FIND A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK, WHILST LOOKING ON EBAY I CAME ACROSS AN 85 E23 732I, IN BLACK WITH 17IN RONDELL ALLOYS, 3 OWNERS FROM THE SAME FAMILY, NO ROT, { I WAS ASSURED THIS WAS THE CASE BY SELLERS OF THE PREVIOUS 4 E28s THAT ID PURCHASED FROM EBAY} LUCKILY THE SELLER WAS CORRECT THIS TIME, THE BODYWORK WAS REMARKABLY GOOD, ONLY A FEW SMALL SCABS ON THE LIP OF THE REAR ARCHES LET IT DOWN, FROM WHAT I CAN REMEMBER ARENT THESE MODELS SUPPOSED TO CRUMBLE TO BITS VERY EASILY,  SO FAR AFTER 2 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP THE CAR IS VERY IMPRESSIVE, ALTHOUGH THE EXHAUST HAS STARTED TO BLOW, THE PAS PUMP SQUEEKS ON L/H LOCK, AND IT DRINKS PETROL LIKE A TRAMP GUZZLES METHS, ALTHOUGH THIS COULD BE DUE TO ME DRIVING IT LIKE A HOT HATCH, JUST AQUIRED A MINT REAR BUMPER TO REPLACE MINE AS ONE SIDE PIECE IS BADLY BUCKLED, ALSO GOT A TOWBAR AND SOME TRIM PIECES TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED ONES ON THE N/S REAR DOOR WHERE SOME LITTLE GIT DECIDED TO THROW A HALF BRICK AT THE WINDOW BUT MISSED AND TRASHED THE ALLY TRIM PIECE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS. ON A RECENT LONG TRIP THE TEMP WENT HIGHER THAN USUAL, I NOTICED THAT THERES AN ELECTRIC COOLING FAN IN FRONT OF THE RAD BEHIND THE GRILL, WHAT IS THIS FOR AS AN OLD M535I AUTO IM BREAKING DOSNT HAVE ONE, MAYBE THIS HAS PACKED UP HENCE THE HOT RUNNING, AS I RENT 2 LARGE GARAGES AND AM BREAKING 2 OF THE E28s THAT I BOUGHT I AM LOOKING FOR A BASKET CASE E23 TO USE FOR SPARES IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANYTHING, IT WOULD BE GREAT IF IT ALSO HAD LEATHER TRIM, ANOTHER THING SOMEBODY MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH IS THAT THE ONBOARD COMPUTER WORKS OK, BUT HOW DO I GET IT TO SHOW THE TIME AS I DONT HAVE A HANDBOOK FOR IT, ANY ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED ALONG WITH ANY INFO/HISTORY/TROUBLE SPOTS ON THESE CARS, REGARDS ELPRESIDENT.

Nice one Mark!!

Haggle hard, 100 to 150 is well worth it for the leather.

plenty of good bits to plunder on that one.

or, if you decide to repair it, Rob has a complete cyl head thats only done 60k miles - will fit that car.
