 CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS NORMAL, I recently brought a 328 coupe the leather at the bottom of the gear lever feels warm after a 20-30 minutes of driving is it normal for gear box to create heat at this piont inside the car.

My auto does, so I guess it's normal (since the oil in the gearbox heats up, and the parts are made of metal - so heat transfer will happen quite readily)

No BMW as yet...

Yep base of my auto lever gets warm.

my manual runs hot there too. very hot after some 'exercise'!!
