I have a mate who is going to (on my advice) dip his toe into the BMW world...

He has decided that he would like an 02....

I've looked at the club ads, but what is really wanted is a Tii (or Ti) in useable good condition (but not a minter cos he can't afford that)...

He might be interested in other cars (anything from a 1600-2 to a 2002) if it is exceptional either in condition, history or price....

Not asking for a post, but any info or pointers to potential vehicles would be great....

Errm...not sure he is sure...He mentioned a budget of around £3K, but I suspect, for the right car, that might be stretched a bit

Try Richard Stern's website www.bmw2002.co.uk, large selection of cars for sale. Sometimes Autotrader throws up a car, £3,000 is about the right price for a decent car.

Good luck hunting!

Thanks for that, 30CSL

I know that £3k is about ballpark for a decent 02...just hoping a club member has, or knows of, something available, is all....

I used to have an 1802 (which I totally restored) and a 2002Ti replica racer, so am fairly clued up on the type...

Send me your mates Email address I will forward the document I wrote on buying a Tii. Most of it applys to all 02's, but most important thing is structure & rot. Loads of cars on my For Sale page, or LHD cars take a look at www.mobile.de so interesting cars there.

Fanks, bmw2002....Seen your site already...

My mate might not want his email given out, I'll get him to do it direct, should he want...
He has asked me cos a) he is busy b) I'm his mate and c) I'm already a BMW man and know a fair bit

I've not only done a ground-up restoration a few years ago, but have built a racing Ti from a rolling shell, so know all the pitfalls (both lhd and rhd) that are going...and also all the plusses ;)

Don't think he is too interested in a LHD car, though, but I'll have a peek at the site...

Cheers
