Also where can you get those fantastic Alpina arches, does anyone still make em?

Cheers guys

If you have had a 2002 for a while I would assume you have a copy of Mike Macartney's restoration guide. pg 79. Along with any other book you can read when it is too cold to be out playing with the car :-). It recommends ET25 to ET28 on a 6" wheel. It is better described in the book

I have fitted e30 cross spoke BBS(?) alloys which I believe are 6 1/2" wide (EH30 with 4mm spacers at the front). However the rear offside (drivers side) rubs on the arch. My problem is stopping this rubbing.

First point is that it is the offside only I have modified the front offside. I don't care too much about the wings so I just bent the steel back up against the inside of the wheel arch. I think you know what I mean by that. This stops that wheel from rubbing at all. Why is it that both front and back wheels appear to be biased toward the drivers side.

I have no rubbing on the near side (gutter side, passenger side, left hand side). Can this be fixed by changing the bushes, I believe these are original, and worn.

Secondly, assuming I need to modify the rear wheel arch by millimeters, to avoid rubbing. Am I best to bend the inside lip of the arch back up within itself as I have done on the front wing. Or am I better to grind the lip back maintaining the horozontal plane of the lip??

I too am thinking of fitting the E30 15x? Cross Spoke(see pic) wheels to my 1974 2002tii together with lowered springs.

What does "(EH30 with 4mm spacers at the front)" mean? I will watch the replies for a constructive response on this.

Cheers.

The EH number is the offset of the wheel relative to the car. A car with wheels with a lower EH number would have wheels which "Stick out" further than another car with the same tyres on wheels with a larger EH number. The 4mm spacer is kind of a big washer (with bolt holes) which fits between the hub and the wheel this increases the offset or distance the wheel is away from the car. Allowing the wheel to clear the strut. If you fit these wheels on my 2002 the top of the wheel would jam on the strut and not even bolt up. I added the spacers and it now has a bit of clearance.
I resolved the wheel rubbing on the arch by bending the lip round, this may lead to early rusting if not cleaned up properly. Luckily my arches seem OK. Jaymic suggest cutting a bit off the lip and welding the seem, I will probably get that done when I can. The folded lip seems to be a good place for dirt to hold moisture in.
I also have lowered springs, they mean a lot to motorway driving.
Generally the wheels look good and help on the track but I now need to put better brakes and shocks on it too.

Sorry Mine have 195/60R14's fitted, they are only 14" but I am a little confused as to whether they are 6" or 6 1/2" wide. I haven't resorted to a ruler.

I have bought to my 02 Autec Wega 7x15" et25 alloys with 195/50 R15 tires and they fitted perfectly. Note that I have original-sized springs. Now my bushings are so bad that my right rear wheel rubs on the arch, but with new bushings I had no problem at all.
