HEllo! I got Bilsteins /BMW (from a M535i e28) for my 1983 635 . The problem is the rust on rear shocks: the lower spring-mounts are really bad , the rust is eating them. I noticed those mounts are removable and held in place by a kind of seger washer...(for some reason those mounts were keeped and only the Bilsteins were renewed ..What a stupid economy....)
My friend has got standard Boge spare parts and I'm guessing if also Boge have removable bits , as Bilsteins....So i could have found spares for my car. Any expert here?THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Francesco Edited by siscobmw |

BMW will not be able to supply you with these and nor will Bilstein. Consequently myself and Mark McLennan have had a numbr made by a fabricater. It looks like they will cost around £25 each. If you buy a completely new bilstein you will get a set. I however was supplied with the wrong size for my springs and so rathern then buying another set of shocks just thought i would get some made.

From What I understood, Boge mounts are welded on the shocks.. Well...I can say I am lucky, I can ask my neighbourgh and an make them for free....They will be not original, but they will be made in big stailess steel, made quite exactly the original ones , and I will pay really nothing for it... Thank You anyway! Francesco

I removed boge perches, I slightly modified them and put onto Bilstein.. They're simply perfect. I tried the car.....wow.....I feel also safer. Nothing to do with old Boges....Now i change also boges on my 3,3L... Francesco |
