Hi, does anyone know where I can have my 6 aligned properly without paying hundreds of pounds for it? I'm in the bucks/herts area.

Thanks
Cheers

Hmm... So I have to go to the dealer and spend £250 then.
Cheers

I think that's maybe your only option - i posed the same question a while back on here.

I managed to find a bodyshop with a KDS rig nearby to me - pretty thin on the ground apparently.

tip - ask a scooby owner, they seem to do this type of alignment quite a lot (is it their driving standard, speed or what?!? -lol!)

they helped me out.

My local Tyre Spot has just installed the same machine that BMW use.  I happened to be in getting some tyres swapped over, when they were getting trained up on it - hence got a full KDS done for free (including Print out before and after!!)

I asked, and they were pitching the cost at around £60 - think that might be plus VAT though.

Unfortunately, the nearest branch to you would be Darlington, so no-where near - but hey look at the bright side, at least my tracking, castor, camber and toe are correct

Find your local computerised wheel alignemnt center using this link:

http://www.multimap.com/clients/places.cgi?client=alignmycar 3

The price starts at £35 for toe-in correction and "before and after" print-out. This is all you can adjust on 6 series - front camber/caster and rear geometry is not adjustable.
Cheers,

Vano

YUCK!

Anyway, I went down to Panel Craft in Aylesbury where they have the Hunter wheel alignment system. £60! :-D

Only thing was he tried to convince me it wasn't worth doing on such an "old" car if I didn't replace all the front end bushings and shocks first. Weird. £60 alignment vs. £1600 shocks? Why does he recommand that as a first step?!
Cheers

That's not so bad - used to run one myself - proper rear-wheel drive one of course. Then an OPEL (or two!).......

I've even driven a scooby-do! Mind you it was the very very first one as created by Prodrive - strange car

"now where's all this power everyone tells me about? ..................... whooooooooooo....here it is" eventually!

scoobies are 'entertaining' to drive I agree.

its like a 4-second-to-60 eggbox. I wouldn't drive one without a cage......
