Just got a call from my girlfriend, she was in Cork last night and when she came back to the car noticed cover was gone on driver side wing mirror. She said she did'nt hit anything !

Do they have a tendency to come off or maybe grow instant legs and walk away when unhappy??

Are they expensive to replace/ spray??

Had a look at John H's Ci looks much better at rear with modelbadges off than mine.

Are they expensive to get taken off and who could do in Cork.

Model badges can be removed by applying a bit of heat with a hair drier, and then using an ATM/Credit car to get it off. Then just use some tar remover to get rid of the residue.

The mirror covers can come off if they get a knock, they always seemed fairly sturdy to me though.

Many thanks kdevitt,

I'll be out with the extension lead and her turbo dryer asap.

True i would have thought that cars of this build quailty would'nt have drop offs like that.

Maybe a bit cynical but methinks might have been a langer upto no good.

Then again youngone could be covering her tracks.

Thanks again for hairdryer tip.

No need for a hair dryer, just use dental floss and get it between the badge and body. Once that is done just get the remaining sticky tape off whichever way you like.

Hey beemer525

New wing mirror cover arrived today  83E.

would anyone happen to know a "good nice" panelbeater/sprayman in Cork who could match the paint and fit it as i'm out of the country and the little lady will be dropping it in.

Good luck with your track day lads

Keep the grip
