I have reciently bought a 1989 735i Its running on 196TR 415 Alloy rims with 240/45ZR 415 Tyres. I have found trye choice to be both limited and expencive, I would like to change to 7JX15 BMW alloy rims which would give me a far wider choice of tyres, I have seen rims from the later 7 Series and from the 5 Series but I am not sure if the stud pattern is the same. Could someone give this new owner information of what models wheels will fit my car? Many Thanks.

If you look on rochford tyres website, it shows all the PCD's and offsets etc etc therefore it lets you know which models are compatible with which.

Hope that helps.....

go for a set of e34 5 series 15" cross spoke alloys with 225's fitted, straight forward swap. Std practice these days with e32's, e23's and e28's!

All Bmw e34 and e39 five series will fit straight on, e38 7 will require tyre replacement due to rolling radius. If the rims come from later 5's or 7's they will require spigot rims to make the centre hub size correct as e32 is 72.6mm and e38/39 74.1mm

I think you're wrong Del

E38 have the normal hub size.

only e39 have the larger one.

If I'm talkin' rubish please correct me.
