1985 635 csi.... is the boot meant to unlock when you open the central locking on the door, mine doesnt, but when I lock the boot the other locks lock.... is that right?

but should the boot unlock when the drivers door is unlocked, because mine is not doing that, locking the boot does however lock the doors as well, but not the other way round.

You lock it - it all locks.

You unlock it - it all unlocks (unless you have the boot locked using the key - slot horizontal iirc).

Your car is probably fitted with dead locks. If you lock your drivers door by turning the key one quarter anti clockwise it will lock both doors, the boot & the petrol flap. In this position you can open or lock everything from the door or boot. If when locking the door you turn the key a further quarter anti clockwise it will dead lock the doors. In this position when you try & unlock the car from the boot, only the boot will open.

Also, make sure you are not using the 'chauffer' key. Can't remeber all the facts but BM's were issued witha defeatured key which kept the boot an glove box secure.
