Hello All. I've only recently bought a 2000 Z3 2.0. Love it. Have joined the club and will be doing Donington at the weekend.

Just have a few questions for consideration

1/ If i describe my accellerator as 'damped', does this strike a cord? The response is fine if i push hard enough, but it does take some effort to really balance the revs when changing down. Is this a common problem - or is mine in need of TLC? (34500miles on clock)

2/ I need to find a reputable specialist in Manchester (pref), for minor repairs/ parts. Any suggestions?

3/ If i'm considering making Mods, which prefereably don't effect the insurance, what would be the start?

Thanks in advance. See you Sunday

re accelerator, I had the same trouble with mine, and replaced the cable - massive improvement; although mine was 20 years old!

Check the throttle body bits first, where the cable meets the mechanism, etc. maybe a touch of WD40 here will cure it.

Thanks, Pharoah and Kidsinister. I was beginning to think i was speaking gibberish

I've contacted Baymow and have it booked in for next week. I had tried BM TEC in Manchester, but there was no reply to telephone and the doors were shut. Possibly no more!

In relation to the accellerator, i tried the magic WD, but it had little effect. It may just be me, as i'm comparing this pedal to that in a 120D, so perhaps the 'lathargic' feeling is normal. I need access to another Z to compare, I think.

Cheers

Tricky
