Hello!

I have 2 friend without internet and/or pc.One of these two  has got a 635(and I helped him to solve some problem , thanks to this forum) and the other owns a e23 735i (with dogleg 5 speed). On his car the 2 front speakers(those under the dash with amplified BMW sound system) are gone:they used to have big squeal and vibrations..Now they are definitely dead. Does anyone has got 2 front speakers( used  but working , as my friend want to sell the car as "fully working")???????(1 million dollar question....)

Thank You in advance and best regards,

Francesco from North Italy

any modern 6X4 speakers should fit the space unless the magnets are too deep.

modern speakers make a huge difference to the sound quality.

in my own E28 & E23 I have fitted various modern JBL, Alpine and Pioneer speakers purchased on ebay for a few pounds.

If you want original spec Pioneer 30W speakers I have some. these were the upgrade option from the stock Blaupunkt 20W speakers which are really puny and awful with no bass.

If he is desperate for orignal Blaupunkt speakers, (and assuming a 1981 635 came with the same) you can probably have mine - they are not blown, but as Philip says, they are dreadfull (which is why mine are soon to be available)
And so says Jimbob.
1981 635csi 81k miles. Will be fixed, but not by me.

My friend has got sound system with ITT speakers....

They are 40W and 4 Ohm of impendance, about 4 inches of diameter  , but when he swapped those speakers with new Alpine 40 W and 4 ohm...the sound was a disaster (distortion, like the 2nd world war radio you see on old movies....).

He was told from BMW that they are not longer available...

Maybe, I'm not sure, he has a little tweeter near the speaker (each side) and then other 2 tweeters on the door mirrors pods...

Francesco from Italy

PS: he won't sell it, but he had a big offer from a BMW club Italia member....We're talking of Big Bucks!!!
