I used to have my 6 insured for daily use & wanted agreed value. Found Chris Knott Insurance could do a top-up of agreed value.

Tried them, and everyone else in the back of the Club Magazine, and loads of websites, etc, etc - wore my fingers to the bone, and got the phone red-hot, and only HIC would give me un-limited mileage

With three cars to choose from, is that going to be a problem?

Only problem I found this year was for the amount of agreed value (£12000).

Initially they agreed the amount then said they would only go to £9000 (even though I sent them a copy of the original invoice at £11k ) as that was the highest price they'd found. I steered them to Munich Legends where I'd bought the car & pointed out the M635 for £23k !!! They agreed my £12k straight off

Tim, that is a fair old tip, just went on there and got a quote of 330 with my three points and just turned 24. Also there was no mention of the need for a thatcham immobiliser.

Pity it isnt spring and the car wont be used over the winter!

Regards,

Rohan

Hi,

You should try Peter Best, but on internet and not over the phone, I got my M635 fully comp for £280 parked in the street with free break down, agreed value on a limited 5000 mile policy.

I spoke to a girl in the office there and she advised thier website is wrong but if you insure via it they have to honour the policy for whatever amount it gives you, she obviously hates her job and boss to tell me that.  Great deal being I'm only 25 with a 286bhp car !!

Had my renewal notice in today for my Highline from Jardine Faber/Roadsure at £228.27, f/c, 3000 miles, legal expenses, no breakdown cover though.

Rang Carole Nash, they've quoted me via Redstar (or similar sounding name) £207.20, f/c, 3000 miles, legal expenses, breakdown cover inc home start, free green card.

For an extra £19 I can have cover for 5000 miles.

Seems pretty good, but I rang Jardine Faber back & said if they wanted my biz again they would need to significantly sharpen their pencil! Not doing a dutch auction, I havn't given them the price, just told them it needs to be some way under £200 - I already have AA breakdown cover for me & the wife- but any car, useful with our stable!!!

My 635's.

Carol Nash. £176 comp. 3K or 5K miles (can't remember which) 1985 735. They were the most helpful and best price. Extra discount for being a BMWCC member.

Lancaster (broker) and Highway (insurer)

seem OK, I pay about £450 which is higher than most but I suspect that's what you get for parking a ins group 20 car on a street in central london. Much cheaper than renting a garage!!

I insured my old 911 with them for £200 a year

Depends on what you want to use the car for.

Iv'e just gone through Carole Nash who have put me with Sun Alliance on a 5k mile per year classic policy with agreed value at a cost of £267 for myself & wife. Includes breakdown cover too.

Limiting the mileage further didn't really save much more.

As above really, just wondering who would give the best deal, is going with a classic car company the best option?
