Does anybody else have an interest in collecting BMW scale models such as die-cast, plastic model kits etc? I have quite a collection of various models myself in various scales including some of the Alpina, Hartge and Schnizter BMW's and would like to know what else is out there. Unfortunately none of my collection is for sale but if anybody wants to know if their BMW has been produced as a scale model I could offer some advice though I'll admit my knowledge is a little restricted so it could just be a yes or no. I'm also happy to exchange information on what's available/about with any other collectors out there.

Regards

Steve

Not a collector, but wouldn't mind knowing if they produced a 2.8 Z3 in Carbon Black (pre-facelift)?

Apologies for the delay replying.....

A couple of options here though they might take a bit of searching. Minichamps produced Z3's in 1:43 scale in various colours including black, in both pre and post facelift versions. I managed to pick up a slightly tatty unboxed one for about a fiver so expect to pay a little more for a boxed one. If you're looking for something a bit bigger a 1:18 scale version has also been produced by either Minichamps or UT models, but I can't remember offhand if it ever came in black, but expect to pay £15-£25. You might want to try a BMW dealer as they should have catalogue listing all the scale models currently available and the prices are good eg I bought a 1:43 scale E46 M3 in a presentation box for about £13, whereas from a model shop in standard packaging they're about £20.

Thanks for that.  Dealer is sending me a list so I'll have a look through.
