4 speed manual gearbox help!

   Hi all,

I'm after some advice, if you are willing to share with me. I have a 1975 

1602 and my 4 speed manual gearbox is on its last legs, getting it 

reconditioned is an expensive game, so I am looking for a second hand 4 

speed manual from a 1602 or 2002, there are not many around! does 

anyone have any ideas where I could get my hans on one? where these 

gearboxes used on any other make of car? maybe that would widen my 

search.

	Matt, Yes they are all compatable. But if it starts to get expensive you might want to try & source a 5-Speed Overdrive gearbox which will transform the car. Fritz Bits sometimes have them & Cooks Ferry fit them fairly cheap too. Make sure you get the shorter propshaft with the 5-Speed if you go down that route. Alternatively try Paul Hill &/or Les in Colchester they might have a cheap 4-Speed you can use. I just gave one away - typical.
