Dear all,

its been quiet on this forum for a while, so i'm going to depress thing a little more by saying goodbye.

I have sold my 840Csi due to peer pressure, from my wife, kids, brothers and colleagues. sniff sniff.

The car has been an absolute joy and is going to a good home in Dublin next week, where it will be appreciated I have no doubt, and I will miss very much.

However all is not lost as I've bought an Estate car with more grunt - a 540 touring, Y reg 40k miles, so straight line fun and Saxo bashing will continue.

Family pleased as I can go to Ikea and bring stuff back, friends pleased as I can get more than 1 golf bag in the car and colleagues pleased as I can carry IT kit about!!!

Will miss my 840 as it has been fantastic and totally reliable in the 4 months 5k time I have had it. May be when I'm older and richer I will return.

Approve

Best Regards

Sorry to hear that Henners, wish you all the best in the 540 Touring.

Does having kids increase the pressure to sell your 840? If so, I am definitely not having any kids....I know where my priorities lie!

Cheers Ian

Hi Henners

You're saying goodbye to your 840 (hard to do I'd say), I'm only getting to know mine.

Bought it in August, a '95 840Ci, Boston Green with Alpina Alloys, 70k. I didn't know when I bought it whether I'd be keeping it long or not, but now I can't see me selling it for a very long time if ever. It's fantastic.

I haven't seen any action seen on this forum before.

As your car has gone to Dublin, which is where I am, you might tell the new owner how to get in touch if he or she would like to. What colour is it & I'll keep an eye out.

Good luck with the 540 and keep looking in.

Hi Gr-8,

its Atlantis Blue and has only done 29,300 miles so is quite young really. Yes I have really enjoyed it but the head finally ruled the heart, more or less, Ive still bought the 540, which is half a second quicker to 60 than the 8. But it doesn't corner as well and I wont have lots of admiring glances anymore.

Regards

What year is the 840? The number plates here are pre-fixed with the year.

Well I've 4 or them (kids) so no is the answer. You just have to make sure your wife has the sensible 7 Seater.
