After years of threats, it's finally happened.

I'M OFF METRICS!!!

Now, for these you have to blame "UKDaveJ", as he'd picked up this set over a year ago, having had enough of me moaning about crap Avon metric ride quality. They are 7"x15" "Style 31s" from the E39 Five, seated on plastic hubcentric converter rings and then mounted on the E24's hubs.

With winter approaching, they'll be a sight easier to keep clean

The ride quality (tested yesterday and today on local roads and the M1 between Jcn.2 & 5) is light years better than the TRXs I've removed. There isn't even any vibration

With a standard offset of 20mm, they've still got sufficient "dish" to not look out of place on an E24. The design of the wheels is very very reminiscent of some of the old Fiats and Lancias of the '50s and '60s

I really should have done this a LOT earlier. All I need to find now is a spare fifth "Style 31" and we'll be done for the winter.

There is definately the makings of a good joke in your post horsetan ,

6 series and fiats and lancias.......

Did you sell your ro80 ? i have always fancied one of them but luckily i'm not quite sick/sad enough (don't mention the e23s!) to  take the plunge !

Profit is more reasonable than justice.

Sold on Thursday evening to Phil Blake, a known Ro80 enthusiast. He owns TEN Ro80s, so clearly there's someone sicker / sadder than you. I actually asked him how many he now has, and he said:

"Well it's about ten, but I'm not actually sure......."
