Hunting problem when cold

   Hi all,
My dad has a 325 coupe, its had a problem for awhile now with it hunting like mad when its cold, the problem is a lot worse in the winter, the car will barely idle with the revs going from nearly 0 - 1500rpm. Anyone know what the problem might be?
