Hello all, a bird decided last week to splat my car right in the centre of the bonnet and it has left a right mess. scratches and dull paint. I need to know of any recommended body shops. Have had one quote from JD Coachworks near Lambton, who said a respray would be £250. I'm getting a mobile repair guy out on Monday for another, but as far as I know he only does light repairs not full resprays, so if he confirms a full bonnet respray in needed, I want a first class job doing. Not a bad thing anyway getting a respray as it will get rid of the front bonnet edge stone chips ! I'm not in a desperate hurry and can take time to listen to advice and shop around. Thanks in advance for any help

Erm... well it's a bit of a trek, but there's a company in Hull called Mike Lawday body shop. His work is first rate, and his rates a lot lower than most. For example, I had an argument with a wall in my Escort and needed full rear valance respray and a bit of body-kit refitting... £65. 07890750171

Well, if you park your car in the middle of a forest, what else can you expect?

Cats know your every thought.

But don't care.

How long was the bird doo sat on your bonet for? I normally try and clean it as soon as it happens or I see it. Sorry to hear about the damage it has done though

Did you use a brilo pad to remove the poo?

You could try the cheap method of polish first

Well it was on for up to 12 hours, while I was at work, and I guess I was at fault for not being more careful removing it, but was keen to get it off knowing the damage it would do...all seagulls should be shot on sight ! By the way "thepits" you don't get many seagulls in a forest  !

One scratch is deep the rest are surface scratches, but I don't think they will polish out at all, but I will try ayway before taking the plunge for a re-spray. The lines run down from the centre of the bonnet to the front as well...

Thanks for that Grahame I'll get a quote from them. Mill Car Clinic wanted £564, but that was for repair of dents in rear lower panel as well as the bonnet respray, which would have get rid of all the stonechips as well. Its going to be an expensive Christmas one way or another !

Paul, do you think you could put a bigger picture in your signature, it's very hard to make out your car in the one you use!!!!
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
