HELP! E36 M3 Evo brake issue

I own a 1996 E36 M3 Evo Saloon, in January of this year i had new discs fitted to the front, about a month ago the car developed problems with the NSF, after a short time smoke would start to pour out from behind the wheel and the heat was immense, obviously the calliper was not releasing correctly and the pad was rubbing against the disc, i took the car to a different garage and they identified the issue and as part of this replaced both front discs, a few weeks later i raised the question why did they replaced both front discs when the problem was just with the NSF, their reply has been that on M3's the discs are side specific and the original garage had fitted the discs the wrong way round.

can anyone confirm this please!

never trust garages. calipers seizing up is a common problem on the EVO's. The seal comes off and water attacks the piston and over time it seizes up.

The discs are side specific on front and rear, when I bought my car the rear discs were on the wrong sides so replaced them as you shouldn't really swap them as the wear pateerns would have been different. Basically the first garage you used didn't know what they were doing.
