525i sport 2001 model blower fan.

   the blower fan does'nt turn off when i turn my car off.in fact it speeds up when i turn off.fan speed also cannot be adjusted using dashboard controls unless i push the max button when its like a hurricane blowing through the car.can someone help me with some info on this problem coz disconnecting the battery every time i switch the car off is really ticking me off.many thanks to anyone who can help.
