Just though i would post on the forum what i sent to the people on my mailing lists.

James

Hi All,

It's been too long since I have last written to you all and for that I apologise. My work commitments of late have been taking priority. However with this year ending and next years about to start and the festive season well upon us I thought it was an opportune moment to put fingers to keyboard.

So what news of late.

Firstly I have been asked  by Howards Walker and the club to look after the coupe section. So now I am the Coupe Chairman. This basically means that I keep doing what I have been doing this last year, but try to coordinate the various sections within the coupe section a bit more and the sharkfest for 2006 will probable be the best moment to do just that. As yet I have not organised anything, but am planning to get a drag strip / airfield for the day were we can use our cars as well as look at them as their is a limit to how much time you can spend looking at any car no matter how nice it is. Anyone that has any ideas for this event or wants to be involved in the organisation of this or any other please feel free to come forwards. Remember 2006 is the 30th Anniversary of the E24 Six series and the 40th of the 2002.

My own car has been a bit troublesome of late with a number of expensive bits going wrong at the same time which has restricted it's usage a bit, but there has also been plenty of write ups and modification articles that I have written. Keep a look out for these in the upcoming articles. Ones to note is an article on BMW part brake upgrades, Suspension upgrades and lighting upgrades for the 635csi along with an induction article. All I hope interesting stuff for all owners and of particular interest for 6 series enthusiasts.

It is also about time that I start organising the calendar of events. I am currently working on the years listing, but I have a couple of events booked and planned which may be of interest to some if not all of you.

Six Series Rolling Road Shoot Out Saturday February 18th 2006

I have a Rolling road booked in Aylesbury that is really great. I have space for up to 15 sixes and have already got one magazine interested in doing an article (Practical Performance Car). This event is on a first come first served bases, but if there is enough interest I will organise a second one. Currently there are a couple of people provisionally booked. The cost of the day will be £40 and I need a £20 deposit for each car. Please contact me first and I will then draw up a list of those going and will ask for deposits at a later date. Ideally I would also like to organise an Eight series shoot out, a E9 shootout etc. I however will need an owner of one of these cars to aid in these shootouts.

The next meeting I plan to organise is a Visit to Munich Legends as I planned this last year and then for one reason and another did not get the day organised. My planned date for this is Sunday 19th March. I will need to speak with Barney and check that he is happy for this to occur, and will be able to confirm this date on my return from Holiday in January.  I will let you all know about this ASAP.

As for future events and dates I need to sit down and go over all the other classic car events and shows already planned and try to organise some events that don't clash with these. I already know two events that I will be involved with. Obviously Gaydon, and the other being the Retro Cars Show. This could be the show to go to next year, and I plan to have a big presence at this one.

Anyway I had better end this at this point.

May I wish everyone a magnificent Christmas and hope 2006 is a prosperous year for all.

Seasonal Greeting
