Congrats on finding someone you like BUT I do know a couple of people who had bigger bills trying to sort out the work the Mtec did wrong on their E46s.

I've never used them so will reserve judgement though I did get them to quote for suspension work on the 5 and they were dearer then Autobarn in Northampton.

Interestingly the guy that set up Mtec IIRC used to work wih or for the guy who owns Autobarn.
Gentlemen I may not have a brain but I do have an idea

Interesting....Ive heard good reports about m-Tec if they are the company based on Moulton Park?

Autobarn are very poor, used them 3 times now and wouldnt go back again.

I wouldnt touch Autobarn with a bargepole...that has also got nothing to do with me now living in Bath so its a bit of a trek!!

I cannot recommend BMWorx in Aylesbury enough and yeah, I am half tempted to trek from Bath to Aylesbury for work on the car

Ive booked my car in with M-Tek for an insp 1 on the 4th of April when I get it back on the road..

They seemed friendlier and more switched on than Autobarn on the phone so thats a good start..

Ill let you know how it goes..

When I have more time, next service ill try BMWorx John...

Just thought id feedback my experience with M-Tec

Small unit in Moulton park in Northampton-owner an ex BMW mechanic of some years..anyway, the inspection covered all the usaul service items(oil, filter, air filter and plugs, brake inspection) and the tappets, which was nice to know.

I also asked them to check the gearbox and diff oils, the diff needed a top up with fluid as did the power steering.

The car came back with no faults and the work cost a total of £176 so i was a happy bunny..
