I've just ordered a set of M3 lights for my old mans car (97 E36 318 saloon) from a very well known BMW breaker. The lights are for a chaeck control vehicle however my dad's car hasn't got C/C or an OBC. I was informed over the phone that I would have to do something involving two wires in order for the lights to work properly, something to do with brake lights? But it wasn't very complicated. Not a sparky so am bit concerned, Can anyone help me out with what I nedd to do in order for the lights to work properly?

TIA

Dean

Yeh, it just means that one of the brake lights will not work as the wiring harness will be different, quickest & easiest way is to run a feed (think it's the green wire)from the light that IS working, over to the one that doesn't, this can be fed through the trim just inside the boot, HTH.

Cheers mate,

Basically I need to run a link between the working light to the other? Should be able to do that. Was bit concerned as hate messing with anything to do with saftey on a car. Will give it a go when they turn up & hopefully it'll all work.

Dean.

I'm gonna fit the new clusters to my Dad's car tomorrow, Sorry to go over things again but wanted to double check all I do is run a link wire between the cluster with the working brake light & the one without? Does the type/gauge of wire matter? Am thinking of buying him a non c/c set from gsf & sticking these ones on ebay
