I never got it, bummer. Anyway, at least they went to a fellow 540 owner. That's bad news about the Alpina, I hope it works out for you. Was yours advertised on Pistonheads a while ago? I remember looking at it thinking it was nice, but out of my price range. Mags |

Mags, I replied to your PM?!? I'm absolutely gutted!!! Only consolation is that they've gone to a fellow 540i Touring owner and forum member. I could have probably got the same amount for the tyres only and then sold the wheels seperately... Oh well, sob sob!!! To make matters worse, I'm now being messed around by my old man's mate who promised me his Alpina when his Porsche arrives - now wanting approx. £3k more from me as the Porsche dealer's given him a good trade-in price. I may need never have had to sell the wheels!!

thanks - had just been valeted that day and looked fabulous - even though it's 7 years old and 100k miles. have had angel eyes fitted since then, looks even better now. Just a nice colour I think - unusual, and the wheels are ace. Cheers, Ali |

Catsx11 Sadly, the car is going soon (agreed to buy an E39 Alpina 4.6 Touring...) so I've put the original wheels on in preparation for a sale and hope(d) to get more for the wheels seperately. Surprised the difference they made having put the originals on again - it's now got comically low levels of grip, rolls and moves around the road more and seems to pitch and dive more as well: really lost the four-square feel that the BBS wheel give and 'floats' again! Ahmurray Got to say that that is one of the best looking E39's I've ever seen. Good job! |

With 5 days to go, I think you are OK - they will start to go up in the last 48 hours. Should fetch a decent price! |

Gulp, think I might be taking a bit too big a risk here, but I've put my alloys (complete with 2,000 mile old Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres!) on the eBay for 99p with NO RESERVE. Been up for four days already and they're STILL on 99p!!! If they're going to go silly cheap, then I'd rather they go to a member on this forum, so have a look: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=803 8306345 Thanks Ben |
