Having discovered my auxilary fan wasn't operating I replaced the low speed resistor but the fan still isn't working.

The Bentley manual shows a different fusebox to my '89 model. It shows 6 relays where mine has 8. The High & Low speed relays are on the side of the fusebox but my handbook claims they are inside (relays 3 & 6).

There are two relays on the front of the fusebox (one white & one orange) which I suspect may be the ones. Anybody with an EK list tell me which is which?

the relays on the front are usually the main (DME) and fuel pump relays. Nothing important then.... what a crazy place to put them, eh...?

don't know about the aircon fan relay, mine doesn't work either, so any light you can cast would be welcome...

cheers

-oh BTW I know of one thing that is wrong with my fan -the shroud is distorted, it physically won't turn easily. I gather this is a common fault.

cheers

Well I discovered there was power to the new resistor. So much that it melted the mounting point of the headlight bracket I'd fixed the resister under & I think the new resistor is kaput too.

I'm told the engine should be running, up to temp & the a/c on for the aux. fan to cut in. The sender unit is on the earth side of the circuit if you're checking.

The fan's a right sod to get at. Looks like you have to drop the under tray to get the fan out & they're rather expensive too.
