Just noticed the August edition of 'Total BMW' featured an article on buying a used 8 series. For once an article that takes an almost objective view of our understated supercar!!!

Hi Phil, You don't a scanner per chance? Would love to read it. Is it a UK publication? We get Performance BMW and BMW Car (both UK) mags here but I don't recall that title.

G'day Ian   Right on cue!!!

My scanner hit the bin some months back. However, if you cannot get it in Aus I can put a photocopy in the mail to you before I disappear back to work at the weekend.

Here's their website.

www.totalbmwmag.co.uk

Have a look at some of the old buying guides for free!!

Called the sales team. They reckon its a worldwide distribution but haven't come up with a contact in Aus yet.

I have a subscription to BMW Car, which I find the best read. I even had a Letter of the Month published in April 2003! They did a buying guide to the 8 some time last year too, I'll try and dig up the exact date.

Total BMW is not bad either, but I find Performance BMW a bit too much tuning-oriented for my tastes

Total BMW appear to have started to go down the Perf BMW route, with more articles on modified BMW's, or cars with Large ICE. I used to by it religously, but now will only buy if there is an article/car in it, that I want to read about.
It was better before they facelifted the mag cover, now it's like it's sister mags, Total VW/Vauxhall etc.

G'Day,

Thanks for the advice! I think I will order it through their website. Can't believe our sheep loving cousins across the Tasman get it & we don't.

Have to agree that the ICE articles bore me compared to the tech/review articles.

Makes me laugh how the more strap on mods a mag is pushing the more slappers per page there are!!
