On the m6 the front bumper is lose. Upon inspection the two nuts which hold it on each side to the chassis/frame rail are lose. They cannot be tightened up however as the bolts which are suppsed to be welded fixed to the inside of the chassis rail are turning freely.

Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

Regards,

Rohan

Is this the Highline type bumper or the chrome type?

the bolts are semi-captive coach bolts. They can slide up and down slots in the frame rails. Unfortunately the bolt will turn freely once a seized nut has been wrenched unsuccessfully; there isn't much metal stopping them from turning usually.

On the right side there should be an extra bolt if you have a front towing eye poking through the spoiler.

Most times an impact wrench will free these little sods, but if not you will have to grind the heads off, disassemble and fit new bolts.

I posted on bigcoupe.com re wing repairs recently and included a description of how to deal with these bolts, this might help you.

cheers
