I am hoping someone can give me some advice.

I have searched for a 325i Sport saloon to replace my 2001 model for some time, I think I have found the car I want from a private seller 15 miles from my home with all the right spec:

1) It's at 03 model

2) It only has 14.5k miles

3) The gentleman who owns it appears to be retired and has owned from new(I viewed the Vehicle at his home)

4) Concern is , the car was imported from Germany, but has just had it's first service from a reputable BMW Dealer in Hungerford

I think my judgement could be clouded by the fact the car looks genuine and is in extremely good condition however the Import thing worries me

Any advice very welcome

Thanks

Look at it this way. All (well most!) BMW's are imported from Germany, this ones just been driven there first.

Which calls for further checking:

Just like you would with a second-hand car on british roads, you need to check if the cars been stolen or accident damaged in germany before export to the UK. Im sure the Germans will have an organisation like HPI which can tell you this. Just a case of doing your homework and brushing up on your german

if he seems geniune he probably is. Do the usual checks both in the UK and Germany. If theres anything your not sure of walk away from the car. No matter how nice it is. theres plenty more out there (even 325 sport saloons, I know how rare they can be!)

good luck

Thanks very much for your advice,

As it happens I have in the last couple of days verified with the company that imported it for him, that it was imported brand new, and the DVLA have confirmed he has been the only registered keeper.

So for once in my life, I think I may have found a bit of bargin !

Cheers Again
