Advice on wheels and tyres

   I'm thinking of buying a set of 17" alloys for track days. Have seen some cheap new sets on ebay.  Does anybody know what tyres are the best for track days and how much they cost?  Not going to be using them for normal use although they will have to be road legal so I can drive to the track.   
Has anybody seen 18's on a Z3?  And will 18" tyres give better grip than 17's?  
And have you any advice on where to buy wheels.

	18's will give better grip as leave a bigger footprint but - 18's or 17's better acceleration with 17's, higher top speed with 18's. although you would not be reaching anywhere near top speed in mondello probably a little over a hundred on the main straight. i'd go with 17's but thats just my opinion. you can get yokohama A032R tyres i believe these to be road legal, supposed to be good, no experience though some of they guys ere might have experience of them i am able to lay my hands on 2nd hand slicks every now and then if interested but these are DEFINATELY NOT road legal
