Went up to Elgin today to have the car remapped by Phil (PM9575)

Really nice place he has up there, & I was welcomed by Phil, ace bloke, & a nice cup of coffee made by the lovely Mrs.Phil, sorry Phil, I never actaully got her name!

So, after a wee mishap on the way into the garage involving my nearside mirror & the door post lol, (was too busy looking at all the cleaning goodies) we got down to business.

After the remap was complete, he asked me to take the car for wee run to see what i thought, but unfortunately there was some kind of "Tour de Moray" going on, cycles everywhere on both sides of the road, but i managed to get a wee blast in between them all

First impressions are, it sounds a wee bit different on idle, it most definitely pulls a lot harder, right through the rev range, flat spots are gone, less need to drop a gear & just feels a whole lot more responsive, & even, dare I say it, safer.

This was proved on the way home as i passed a few of the flat cap Renault & Corsa brigade, (all with their 40 - 45mph limiters on ) & passed them with real ease & confidence. I also noticed the MPG gauge was reading more favourably.

All in all, a great job done, it was a pleasure driving home & I'm sure I will notice even more good things as I drive more.

Big thanks to Phil, Mrs.Phil, & Jayson (chippeduk) for a fast & friendly service, anyone thinking of getting this done, don't think about it, just do it, save up if you have to, but do it.

Hope to see you again at a meet some time Phil.

Hopefully I should be going down to Bromsgrove at the beginning of next month to see Jayson and have a remap myself. The more I hear the more I can't wait to have it done. Glad its been a success for you Ally, sounds like its well worthwhile. Good luck  Steve.

No, can't make it Cliff, I will be offshore then, or I would have gone, however, by happy coincidence I can be found in Perth next weekend, rolling around drunk in some pub or other, on my stag night    Which remap did you get?

Have you had the Bbtb/manifold done yet? This will release another 20bhp.

No, haven't done that yet, if i did the BBTB alone, would I see any gains?

Yes, if you check the links on e36coupe's forum you'll see everyones very positive response to having this done, if you do it you'll need to get your remapp looked at again as it will unleash more ponys which i'm sure will keep you grinnin like a cheshire cat
