I have recently bought an immaculate 730i (H-plate, £1000) and I am really happy with everything except an occasional engine stall in traffic. Revs are slow to return to idle sometimes and othertimes dip very low after a short squirt on the accelerater. Other than this, the car runs perfect.

Any ideas on typical cause or solution?

Thanks in advance

airflow meter (AFM). But before you start on that, make sure the bellow hoses either side of it do not have any cracks in the corrugations - common fault and the hoses are cheap. AFM's can be self serviced, look for quide through 'search' at top of page.
