My E34 540 auto averages almost bang on 20mpg and this is in almost entirely short hop town driving.

We took her to Norfolk and back last weekend and cruising at around 70-75mpg where possible I got 26mpg overall which I was happy with. It was over 28mpg whilst on the dual carriageway/motorway. This was FULLY loaded with 2 adults and 2 kids.

I suspect I am running slightly rich too as one of my cats is going.

Edit to say all these figures are according to car computer.

I get between 350 & 400 miles per tank and regularly drive 17 miles over the ---m signal on the obc (---M Appears when the range left in petrol tank registers 9 miles)

well the most i have got to a tank was 298 miles the fuel light didnt come on but the needle was just about to fall of the gauge but thats mainly hilly (live on edge of the mendips) main road driving dont drive in town i use my smart car which gives 65 mpg with aircon on !
