Has anyone got a decent s/h m30 head/w cam and hopefully without corroded waterways for sale.....?? Standard is fine or a mild cam, I'm not fussed.

Depends what year you need. Chrome bumper cars
have a '358' head which is shared with all E28/E23 cars, Highlines have the E32/E34 535i head. As far as I know, Pete (Hiabboy) has a really nice one from a B plate 735i which ran really well. His number is 07970 645599 and he's West London area just off the M25/M40 junction. |

thanks man, cool Yeah, I wonder if I'd notice the drop in compressin ratio if I used the newer head. It seems I'd be splitting hairs - 10:1 cr versus 9:1 cr but with bigger ports and chambers.....anyway it's 218bhp either way isn't it?? wasn't the e32/34 211bhp?? Cheers Drew540i |

Highlines & E32's were 220bhp.
The E34 was 211bhp. Not sure if it was strangled a bit so it didn't out-perform the 7-series or whether there was some "technical" reason. |

No, E34 535 Sport had 211bhp too.
The E28 535 had the earlier 218bhp pre-Highline engine. Various people including Drew "Font Of All Knowledge" 540i have assured me of substantial gains in power, performance, drivability & my sex life if I get my Six chipped. Apparently it puts all the goodness back that the cat. preparation took out. |

ahhh right. Sounds like I'm better off sticking to the pre highline head/engine . Does fuel consumption improve when you fit a chip ? P.S.....this seems well well pricey to me??? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-3-5-M30-NOS-ENGINE-ACCESSORIES-5-6 -7series_W0QQitemZ320002369736QQihZ011QQcategoryZ32636QQssPa geNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

Don't even think about messing around putting
different heads on. The inlet manifolds aren't compatible so just replace like with like. |

Would it be possible if the (later) head came with manifold?? |
