Just fitted a new radiator and replaced the coolant but I'm getting the
warning light. Not sure why as the level is correct, any ideas? |

Have all the leads to the radiator been re-connected? You might also want to unscrew the cap from the expansion tank and give it a thorough wipe before replacing it. |

Did you try checking the wiring at the top of the expansion tank, and that the float moves freely? Also I had a warning light come on and it was due to the screw-cap not seating correctly. Couldn't work out why that was a problem, but it was. |

Float does moves freely but I'll try that again. I
thought it would be a good idea to remove the expansion tank and give it a good clean which is probably why I've now got a problem. I didn't flush the entire system, topped up with a 50/50 split of water and coolant (5 litres). I assumed this would be ok? Replaced the hoses also. |

it may be the sender unit. Get a new one from BM's they're only cheap (less than £20 I think).

I tried another sensor at the weekend and that didn't
work so maybe it's the sender unit like you say. Worked fine until the new rad went on. I did decide to give the tank and sensor a good clean while I was at it. sh*t! |

I had a problem where the float on the sender didn't float, ie even though the level was fine the float just sank. ?? |

This is still driving me crazy.
Shouldn't the fault light go out when the sensor connection is disconnected? I also put a test lamp to the connector and earthed it but it didn't light up. Help. Trying to avoid an expensive auto electrician. |

Finally sorted.
When I decided to give the tank a clean (5 weeks ago) I put the yellow plastic sleeve (the float) on the wrong way round which caused the light to come on. Idiot! |
