Mintex Brake Discs/Pads

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my 95 316 and have been offered a set of Solid Mintex discs/pads for around 80euro. The seller says they're a top make but i've never heard of them. Has anyone here had any experience with Mintex discs or can you recommend something else.  I just want something up to oem specs.

You need to check what's on the car just now, Vented  disks will not fit calipers designed for solid disk and vice versa. As Peter's pic clearly shows, the solid disks are thinner than the vented ones. Calipers designed for solid disks willl have a narrower pad carrier clearance than the ones for vented and the throw of the brake piston is diffrerent so important to get the right ones for your car. I think the E36 316 had solid fronts and may have disks or drums on the rear. Time to get the wheels off  and have a look m8

Mintex, if they are genuine, are a great brake pad and disk to get, I used to use them on the MK1 Escort I used to sprint many moons ago. Don't see them as often now though so check them out, €80 isn't bad at all.

Mintex are a very well known and reputable brand.

As has been said, if your car has solid discs, changing to vented will be an expensive option ..... I wouldn't bother, but it's your choice of course.

My old E34 518i estate had solid discs, it was surprising to find they were soild, but they were never an issue.
