   i'm retro fitting an auto dipping mirror for the 5 series, can anyone tell me the wiring for the mirror.  i assume that there are already wires there for the alarm led so i'm looking at bringing a few more to the top of the mirror.  if any one can tell me what each wire is i'd appreciate it.  i think there is 5 altogether.

	Dermot O Rourke, used to be '99 520 black metallic Now '01 525 M-Sport, cosmos black, sports half leather seats, upgraded lights and a kick like a mule!!!

	thanks killian, did a search but couldn't find it. i remember wiring in an auto dip to an old mondeo i used to have. i took the power from the interior lights and ran a wire from the reverse lights to the mirror (pita but saved messing around in the fuse box). just wondering if i do it this way will it work, or are bm's tempermental when it comes to things like this?? D.

	Dermot If you are going on the Connemara run this weekend I'll bring my e39 Bentley manual. Should be able to find something in there. I think TotalBMW may have done a tech article on this a few months back (although it could have been retrofit on to an e36). Have a look on their site as well.

	Dermot I found the hardcopy article I was looking for. It wasn't from Total BMW. It was on www.e36coupe.com If you look under the technical folder you'll see it. It is particularly about e36's but it should probably give you enough info about wiring colours and functions to be useful.
