Just a bit of impartial advice needed, the missus is going to treat me to a Sat Nav system for xmas(yes i know it's nearly here AGAIN!) and just wondered what system's you use or have used and which you reccomend?

I am keen on not having the module fitted to the windscreen,if thats possible?

Would want the usual features ie traffic blackspot's etc...

I have done a bit of research on the net but would like some advice from people who have them/used them.

The guys in the big electrical stores just want to sell you the dearest one so i dont feel they always give you the best advice.

Thanks in advance.

Tom Tom One is a good one as it has all the features but works off more satellites (about 21 rather than 8-16), so its more accurate.  The TomTom one was only £249 at COMET early this year.  So probably about £199ish now, worth a look and demo IMO.  (Although it does go on the dash/windscreen)

I know of 3 people who bought the £400-500 TomTom Sat Nav systems but got annoyed as it took them on a few wild goose chases and they downgraded to the TomTom One, which they are happy with now.
