   i have a 00 320i its the 1991cc and there is a slight thunk noise from the rear when i put it into first or second. i'm not sure if its comming from there or if the sound is traveling along the drive shaft from the gearbox and the clutch might need to be looked at. twice yesterday it hoped out of first. 
any ideas as i will need to get the work done before the warenty is up.
also will the roundy wing mirrors of later e46 bolt straight to my 00 e46 ?

	what do you mean it was unexpected, you should have expected it!

	If it is jumping out of gear then it sounds very serious. If in warrenty, I'd bring it straight back...

	yup...agree with B318. Doesn't sounds good if it's jumping out of gear, it could be that 1st gear is on it's way out. It could also be down to a linkage adjustment or if not then something more sinister I'm afraid. If it was the clutch it would have trouble gettin into gear, wldn't normally make it jump out. Warranty it straight away M8!!! Rob

	thanks lads its going in next week. what a shame i've only had it 3 weeks. at least i got it through a friend so i'm well covered.
