How easy or difficult to renew a throttle cable on an E36 m44? I have recently had, what I thought was, the throttle sticking. After I cleaned and lubed the throttle linkage, and tried it for a few days, it still seems to be snagging/ sticking somewhere. I am beginning to think that the throttle cable has split and frayed inside the cable housing hence getting jammed. Reason being, if I accelerate quickly and then decelerate, the deceleration is non existant sometimes but, not all the time, so I accelerate again until the snag is freed.(clutch engaged of course, otherwise I'd be darting all over the place ) So I have bought a new one to replace it... Problem is, I dunno how to fit it..are there any things I should be wary of or is it a simple take off old one and replace with new one. I have searched the internet but have come to a dead end with regards to walkthroughs. Any help appreciated.. |

Why don't you "break-down" and get the AA / RAC to fit it for you? (thats how I had a clutch cable fitted!) |
